LANGUAGE GENERATOR

2000
A large sample of material from the web has been analyzed in order to establish statistically the frequencies of various characters and combinations of characters used in the swedish language. The statistical results have been fed into a random generator which displays the random statistics on a LCD screen, character by character in a continual flow.
This means that everything that has been written and everything that will be written has been determined by chance and by stataistics. Besides writing our existing language it also creates a sub-language that sounds and looks like swedish. The sculpture can be applied to all languages and terminologies. A voice simulator reads aloud everything that is written on the screen.
